Basic Function
The Corporate Controller is the senior financial and accounting person in the company. The position is primarily responsible for all aspects of financial management and accounting, with the opportunity to take on HR and IT company functions. Ideal candidates will have a hands-on approach to a role in joining our high-growth, fast-paced Company. The position reports directly to the General Manager and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, timely, responsive, and accurate completion of the job responsibilities below.
Primary Responsibilities:
•Establish, document, and continually improve the Company’s systems of accounting and financial processes. Manage internal operating, accounting, and financial reporting controls, as well as further develop these areas including percentage of completion accounting.
•Oversee and support internal accounting controls to ensure proper segregation of duties, safeguarding of assets, adequate approval of transactions, and accuracy of reporting.
•Responsible for producing timely and accurate monthly financial reports, annual budgets, quarterly revenue/expense forecasts, and annual audits and tax compliance.
•Accountable for cash management and reporting to the Company’s investors and lenders.
•Work with General Manager and production team in managing inventory, including a production forecast and monthly production schedule.
•Lead, manage and train staff in the accounting department and provide hands-on support to ensure all back-office functions work smoothly.
•Evaluate cross-functional business practices to identify and implement processes and procedures to increase efficiency.
•Manage and further develop the IT and HR operations along with General Manager.
•Govern all external relationships with tax reporting, banking relationships, insurance, and HR.
Requirements:
•Degree in accounting or finance with prior experience as a Controller or Director of Finance of a manufacturing and/or construction-related business. CPA preferred.
•Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting, revenue recognition, percentage of completion accounting, and full-cycle accounting processes including AP, AR, and inventory management.
•Experience with project costing and implementation of cost accounting practices
•Results oriented with proven team building and leadership skills.
•Team player with a proven ability to successfully manage multiple projects at the same time.
•Data driven and can demonstrate a strong comprehension of data, data analysis and analytics.
Desired Skills:
•Proficient in NetSuite and Excel.
•Prior experience working on M&A transactions and with private equity investors is a plus.
•Prior experience working in manufacturing and/or construction-related and project-oriented industries is a plus.
