Our progressive client is seeking a Data Engineer as an addition to their team. This role will work with stakeholders and external vendors to help develop their data environment.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
- Outlining data flows, i.e., which parts of the organization generate data, which require data to function, how data flows are managed, and how data changes in transition.
- Identifying internal and external data sources to determine their data storage and organizational needs.
- Developing, optimizing, and maintaining data systems including implementing APIs for accurate data extraction
- Overseeing the integration of new technologies and initiatives into data standards and structures
- Maintaining the data dictionary and supervising system migrations.
- Translating business requirements into technical specifications, including data streams, integrations, transformations, databases, and data warehouses
- Evaluating the design, selection, and implementation of new databases or database changes and recommending optimal data solutions for the organization
- Publishing and/or presenting reports, timeline updates, or recommendations.
- Auditing databases regularly to maintain quality.
- Educate staff members through training and individual support.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:
- Experience with data integration and ETL pipelines using Redshift/S3 and data lake best practices.
- 2+ years of experience in data architecture and/or engineering
- Strong competence in/with database technologies: AWS Redshift, SQL Server, ETL (AWS), Amazon S3, SQL, Python.
- Data Visualization and Reporting experience: Tableau
- Familiarity with database design and systems, database technology, and logical data analysis.
