We are seeking a dynamic Financial Systems Lead to join our team in Reston, VA. The primary responsibility of this role is to provide support for the Office of Finance’s (OF) financial systems and serve as a liaison between the Accounting Department and various stakeholders including the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA), OF Information Technology department, and third-party vendors. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a solid grasp of both technical and business aspects, staying updated on new technology and system enhancements to optimize financial systems efficiency and control.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Administer and maintain the OF Financial Reporting System (FRS), data collection tools, SAP Business Objects reports, and related tools to ensure compliance with financial reporting disclosure requirements.
  • Manage relationships with FHFA and OF IT department regarding changes to the FRS/FHFA Call Report System process.
  • Administer and maintain accounting-related Software as a Service (SaaS) applications including NetSuite, Workiva, and Communifier by Axero (OF HUB), among others.
  • Manage vendor relationships and related contracts for the Accounting department.
  • Represent Accounting’s needs and compliance with information governance, including department records management.
  • Support change management activities including updating process maps, controls, and workflow documentation.
  • Administer and maintain End User Computing (EUC) spreadsheet processes and controls.
  • Ensure security and auditability of system records, including managing permissions and roles.
  • Review and analyze financial systems for effectiveness, benchmark best practices, and manage major system releases, upgrades, or enhancements.
  • Provide customer service and technical assistance for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Create and maintain financial system documentation such as policies, procedures, and user guides.

Principal Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, information systems, accounting systems, finance, or business from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of 8 years relevant work experience (experience with NetSuite administration, SAP Business Objects, Workiva, or script programming is a plus).
  • Experience with IT system implementations, ongoing maintenance, enhancements, and data integrity.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and financial data/reporting systems.
  • Strong communication, analytical, interpersonal, organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Professional, customer-focused, and team-oriented demeanor.
  • Ability to integrate ideas from diverse views, collaborate with others, and resolve conflicts constructively.
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
