OVERVIEW
The Global Materials and Production Planning Manager provides leadership to the people, procedures and systems of the corporation and all of its subsidiary entities, to ensure quality products and services are secured at the best total value in a multi-location, global distribution environment. This person is also responsible for effective utilization and planning of Production/Service assets and customer fulfillment planning.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identify opportunities to reduce the total cost of total global supply chain by optimizing the global distribution network.
- Provide thought leadership in bringing solutions through process improvement, best practices, tools and technology that will continue to set the company apart from its competition and identify new business opportunities.
- Champion process excellence, continuous improvement and identify best practices globally ensuring cross sharing of them.
- Lead the process improvement activities and projects to (re)design as necessary current practices to take advantage of core SAP functionality.
- Lead the development of a capacity planning model that includes DC services and respooling, and implement processes to schedule assets and services based on that model.
- Work collaboratively with all Divisions and Functions to ensure their business success.
- Maintain supplier relationships as well as current terms and conditions of purchases.
- Drive a customer focused culture by partnering with sales and improving response times, offering strategic alternatives and local supplier capabilities with a “win” mentality.
- Serve as a role model for the Company’s Values and Core Leadership Competencies.
- Effectively create and support process enhancement initiatives to maintain an environment of continuous improvement throughout the organization.
