Our client is a private equity firm with $1.5 billion in committed capital. The firm makes control investments in middle-market businesses in the manufacturing, industrial, distribution, and consumer sectors. The firm designs and executes a customized value creation plan for each acquisition that seeks to generate significant cash flow and improve earnings within 12 to 18 months of investment. Since the firm was formed in 2005, they have grown from its three founders to a firm of over 40 professionals.

The firm seeks an Associate to support the Operating Team. The role will require significant travel and presence at portfolio company sites for the duration of each assignment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and support financial and operational improvement projects
  • FP&A and modeling
  • Strategic planning and budgeting
  • Run parts of or entire transformation plans immediately after acquisition
  • Create clear and simple presentations
  • Conduct market, company and competitor research
  • Structure and conduct data analysis to draw conclusions about key business drivers
  • Complete ad-hoc projects, analysis, and other duties as assigned
  • Convince C-Level and Finance leaders to plan, execute and measure key initiatives

REQUIREMENTS

  • BA or BS with an excellent academic record; major in Engineering, Statistics, or Finance a plus
  • Excellent analytical, financial and problem-solving skills
  • Prior financial modeling experience
  • Entrepreneurial, creative self-starter; able to work independently with limited direction
  • High learning agility; able to quickly get up to speed on new industries and/or areas
  • Strong project management, interpersonal and communication skills
  • 3-7 years of experience at either an accounting / consulting firm or Private Equity/Fortune 500 company
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint skills; VBA and Tableau experience a plus
