Reporting to the Director of Site Selection Analytics, the Research Manager, Site Selection Analytics will lead a small high impact team and convert data into information and actionable site selection insights supporting fast and profitable growth. This will involve developing a plan to manage all stages of site selection analytics: from data mining, storage, and governance, through data processing and reporting, all the way up to sales modeling and predictive analytics. We are looking for someone who can think critically and with their feet on the ground, and who can effectively and proactively work with, through and for people. This person has a strong sense of urgency allied to strong quantitative inclination. The position requires working knowledge of statistical techniques, packages, and applications, as well as in-depth experience managing geostatistical platforms, and with predictive modeling.

Overview of Responsibilities

  • Steward
o Sales model stewardship, ensuring rigorous forecasting process, supporting the site selection analytics team
o Sales model improvement through testing, analysis, and optimization
o Production of new predictive models
• Manager
o Manager of small but high impact analytics team
o Manages Store Development data mining, cleaning, management, and storage
o Management of new sites through pre-approval stages, in collaboration with Real Estate team, leveraging our analytics platform
o Management existing seed point opportunities as well as prospection of new trade area opportunities
• Analytics thinker
o Generation of rigorous deterministic and descriptive analysis on critical aspects of store development influencing sales, such as: trade area and customer profiles, cannibalization/saturation, store positioning, co-tenancy, competitive strategy
o Mentors, trains/develops staff
o Improve analytics process through systemic thinking and thorough execution
• Partner
o Leads efforts and collaborates with other areas promoting standardization of methodology, segmentations, classifications
o Analytics partner to Real Estate from site prospection through approval
o Effective communicator with the ability to synthesize complex content to non-technical audiences

Qualifications

Bachelor Degree, Masters Degree Preferred within these areas of specialization: Economics; Finance; Geographic Information Systems (GIS); Statistics; Quantitative Social Sciences; Quantitative Marketing.

• 5-7 years expereince in Multi-unit retail finance or analytics; GIS mapping and analysis; Predictive modeling; management of analytical teams, data scientists; communicating technical content to non-technical audience
• Statistics; Programming; Predictive Analytics; Database Management; GIS Applications (Arc GIS, Q GIS); Analytics and Data Science platforms such as Alteryx.
