Requirements:
• Bachelors or Masters degree in Accounting
• CPA with public accounting experience
• 10+ years of progressive experience
• 5+ years of managerial experience with a team of at least 10
• Experience managing health insurance statutory reporting (SAP)
• Experience managing health insurance regulatory audits
• Experience managing general monthly accounting (GAAP)
• Experience with multi-entity consolidations
• Experience with MS Navision or SAP (preferred)
The Sr Director, Assistant Controller is responsible for the oversight of accounting functions of the pharmacy benefits management (PBM), internal control structure, and insurance business and providing management and leadership of all accounting activities This position has direct reports.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assist the Controller with the direction of the accounting functions and organization
• Manage the following departments: Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Manufacturer Rebate Accounting and Manufacturer Rebates Receivable, Insurance Company, SOX
• Manage, review and approve monthly general ledger standard journal entries, financial statements, comparative reports, and account reconciliations
• Facilitate and complete monthly close processes, including but not limited to general ledger review, journal preparations, and analysis and reconciliation of P&L and balance sheet accounts
• Comply with internal controls in accordance with Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) requirements
• Ensure timely reconciliation all accounts to ensure accuracy
• Maintain and review cost center appropriation accounts, including trial balances, to verify accuracy of coding, classification and posting
• Review monthly financial statements and complete variance analysis within agreed upon deadlines
• Maintain integrity of all accounting systems and sub-systems including custom reports
• Review and prepare monthly spreadsheet analysis
• Oversee fixed asset accounting and depreciation reports
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of accounting policies, procedures and internal controls
• Analyze processes and make recommendations for improvement
• Participate in annual external audit preparation and management
