WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

The Sr. Financial Analyst, Commercial Finance is responsible for providing insights and support to the Finance team and cross-functional partners (primarily Sales, Marketing, and Accounting) via multiple planning and analysis applications. Our teams are fiercely interdependent and require an individual who will thrive in working across the organization to elevate our Business Intelligence. The Sr. Financial Analyst must be detail oriented, a strong communicator, able to handle shifting priorities, and be a self-starter who can take ownership of tasks and projects, from start to finish.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Financial Analysis & Tracking to Support Sales & Marketing:
  • Drive monthly performance reviews with Sales for assigned customers, focusing on sales trends and trade spend
  • Perform financial analysis on promotions and pricing changes both pre and post-event analysis (ROI / Sales Lift) to drive and manage customer level profitability
  • Manage customer level contribution margin and profitability; Track and analyze actual vs. forecast and prepare variance analysis to identify key drivers and impact to the annual plan
  • Work with Sales leaders to effectively organize and track trade events and other customer deductions in Flintfox, Anaplan and other trade management tools
  • Understand and track all elements of customer deductions on an accrual, rate, and cash basis
  • Partner with and become the conduit between Sales and Accounting team to drive process improvement and efficiencies and ensure deduction processing is completed in a timely manner

REPORTING & TOOLS:

  • Liaison with IT to build and improve upon new reporting capabilities, primarily within Microsoft Power BI
  • Trouble-shoot data issues to drive accuracy in all reporting with a focus on channel and customer level P&Ls
  • Assist management in the development and maintenance of financial models to enhance business decisions and risk/opportunity assessment

OTHER FINANCIAL ANALYSIS & CONTROLS:

  • Perform advanced mix analysis for Gross and Net Sales
  • Work with the Director of Commercial Finance to develop the annual budget, subsequent plan updates and gap management activities
  • Monitor KPIs, analyze prior updates, year ago and key variances to the budget to identify trends, risks and opportunities to increase sales and profit
  • Perform month end close activities including financial controls and refreshing reports
  • Ad-hoc analysis and financial modeling

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS/BA degree, required
  • 2 – 5 years of progressive professional experience in Corporate Finance, Investment Banking, Consulting
  • Exposure to Sales Finance, Commercial Finance, or Trade Promotions Management preferred
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel (pivots, ad-ins, data models) skills and proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint required
  • Experience with Data visualization (Power BI preferred)
  • Experience with ERP systems (ex: SAP/TM1/MS Dynamics), specifically MS Dynamics; Implementation is a plus
  • Experience with financial reporting and internal control related responsibilities
  • Excellent organizational skills; Ability to manage multiple projects, follow through and meet deadlines

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
The health, satisfaction and well-being of our employees are important to us and an integral part of our organization’s goals. In this spirit, we are excited to share the available compensation for this role, which includes a base salary range and an annual short-term incentive.

The base salary range is: $90,000 to $105,000, exclusive of benefits or additional incentives (https://www.thesimplygoodfoodscompany.com/careers). Additionally, this position is eligible for an annual short-term incentive of 10%. If you are hired at Simply Goods Foods, your final base salary compensation will be determined based upon such factors as: geographic locations, skills, training, education and/or experience.
