We are seeking a Senior Infrastructure Architect to improve the current physical and Cloud IT infrastructure, while optimizing business operations and setting directions for integrating applications and services. This is a hybrid role that will work out of our Jersey City office.

The Engineering teams work across all applications, infrastructure, and security foundations (server, storage, network, voice, video, Cloud, and enterprise applications) to comprehend and recommend improvements and enhancements to the existing Enterprise Architecture (EA) and all future implementations. The Engineering team ensures the overall EA architecture is maintained in a coherent manner and that appropriate considerations are made for its security and resiliency. The primary goal of the department is to ensure that the respective business, applications, data and technology perspectives are in-line with the organization’s technology and governance strategies, policies and standards.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Create and implement an architecture that reflects the organization’s strategies, business visions, and goals
• Work directly with clients and project teams to gather information to implement processes and technology that support various technical and business functions
• Work with platform, operations, deployment, and other teams to ensure that the best options are considered for on-premise or public/private cloud hosted solutions
• Develop and refine infrastructure and security checklist in existing environment to ensure continued compliance
• Scope, assess, design and deploy Cloud Infrastructure in support of the organization’s short-term tactical and long-term strategic objectives
• Build and contribute to the development of methodology and automation focused tooling
• Take a deep dive into complex issues to support both internal IT and consultant teams and drive problem solving solutions
• Lead and mentor junior engineers and consultants
• Stays abreast on how information technologies are currently impacting and driving competitors, and provide recommendations and subject matter expertise regarding industry trends, technology and tools/services
• Perform other duties as required and assigned

Experience and Skills

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited University, preferably in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Technology, or related field
• 10+ years of experience as an Infrastructure Project Manager with a successful track record of managing projects end-to-end
• Must have the AWS Solutions Architect Associate / Microsoft Certified Azure Associate / GCP Associate Cloud Engineer certification
• Must possess a deep understanding of application architecture, cloud architectures, integration architecture, and security design patterns and best practices
• Cloud Platform and Infrastructure or AWS Cloud Architect
• Certifications such as CCNP, VMWare VCP-NV, CISSP, ITIL, or JNCIP preferred
• Extensive experience with enterprise architecture best practices and goals
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with senior executives, IT Management, and developers
• In-depth knowledge for application hosting, performance tuning and application deployments
• Knowledge of Linux Operating Systems, Cloud based storage, NAS and SAN
• Extensive background in developing complex infrastructure layouts including compute, networking, storage, and security
• Ability to recognize design and deployment best practices, understand infrastructure tooling including firewalls, routers, switches, blades servers, centralized OS management, and automation components
• Demonstrated involvement in projects that span the lifecycle from planning and design, through deployment, configuration, and migration
• Self-starter, who can work independently as well as lead teams of engineers with a demonstrated ability to teach and upskill more junior members of the infrastructure and engineering teams
• Hands-on engineering, configuration of cloud infrastructures using various automation tools
• In-depth experience in any Cloud compute, storage, network, load balancer, and DNS management
• Ability to work effectively in pressurized situations and can be relied upon to deliver, irrespective of circumstances
• Experience in financial services industry, preferably in brokerage and/or asset management environment
