The Sr. Financial Analyst (Operations Finance) will be a key contributor to the Financial Planning & Analysis team, reporting into the Operations Finance Manager. This individual will be responsible for monthly internal financial reporting and detailed financial analysis, as well as providing support to budgeting and forecasting. In addition, the Sr. Financial Analyst (Ops Finance) will collaborate closely with cross-functional business partners in accounting, procurement, logistics, and co-manufacturing, as well as others in performing analysis to drive better decision-making and strategy.


• Cost of Goods:

o Liaise with CoMan team, R&D, Procurement, and Marketing to combine product cost impacts
o Maintain detailed information and data on product costing / purchase price variance (PPV)
o Evaluate cost cards, raw materials, and RFP analyses against current / future formulas and manufacturers
o Partner with Procurement to understand inflation risks; Create comprehensive spend analyses for leadership

• Logistics:

o Assist in logistics planning at the customer / category level
o Analyze freight costs and incremental impacts to budget; Conduct strategic analysis to optimize and refine future assumptions (i.e., delivered vs pickup freight, DC network configuration, etc.)

• Brand & Product Profitability:

o Utilize the gross margin to report category level profitability
o Develop category / SKU level P&Ls to support innovation projects with various profitability benchmarks; Understand variances and provide recommendations to Brand Marketing

• General Reporting:

o Support Month Close activity (i.e., prepare journal entries, explain P&L impacts, etc.)
o Conduct ad-hoc analyses and financial modeling, as needed
o Initiate process improvements with data management, forecasting, and reporting

• Participate / Lead special projects and assignments, as required
• Participate in all other miscellaneous SMPL and departmental tasks, as required
• Attend departmental/cross-functional meetings


• Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel • General knowledge of Cost Accounting • Advanced knowledge of Power BI, a plus • Highly attentive to details • Ability to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment


• Bachelor’s Degree, required
• Minimum 3 years’ progressive, professional experience in Finance and/or Accounting
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a cross-functional Finance capacity
• Experience with financial reporting and internal controls within Ops or Supply Chain, preferred
• CPG experience, preferred

The compensation available for this role includes base salary, and an annual short-term bonus. All incentive plans are subject to management and Board of Directors discretion.
The projected annual base salary range for this role is: $80,000 to $105,000
The annual short-term incentive target for this role is: 10% of your annual base salary
