The primary purpose of this role is to provide consultation and technical advice on Technology infrastructure and DevOps planning, and engineering for assigned systems. This includes translating business requirements and functional specifications into technical requirements and delivering integrated and sustainable designs for high impact infrastructure systems. This role is also responsible for working with Enterprise Architecture teams to develop the technical direction for infrastructure, DevOps, and cloud solutions within various computing environments and systems.
What you will be doing:
• Driving technical solution support to the team to align on continuous integration (CI) and continuous deployment (CD) of technology in applications.
• Designing and developing tool chains for managing and applying DevOps principles, such as CI/CD automation and IaC (Infrastructure as Code) on our systems.
• Designing and defining the overall DevOps architecture/ framework to for a project/ module delivery
• Managing and driving the DevOps pipeline that supports the application life cycle across the DevOps toolchain — from planning, coding and building, to testing, to staging, to release, configuration and monitoring.
• Using coding languages, scripting methodologies, and open-source technologies to create solutions to complex problems and loosely defined project requirements.
• Creating software deployment strategies that are essential for the successful deployment of software in the work environment.
• Leading SRE efforts to resolve complex customer issues and improve overall reliability for core products.
• Leading multiple, complex projects simultaneously, often providing direction and oversight of more junior level engineers supporting the projects within this person’s responsibility. This includes collaboration with cross-functional partners as well as senior leadership.
• Acting as a subject matter expert for multiple platforms within an infrastructure engineering and DevOps domain (e.g., network, storage, platform, database, cloud, containerization, automation).
What you bring to the table:
• 7 years of experience in an IT support environment with technical experience in distributed technologies and systems development
• 4 years of infrastructure engineering experience working across multiple domains, platforms, or specialty areas
• 4 years of Azure DevOps administration experience working with various containerization orchestration and CI/CD tools such as Git, Jira, Jenkins, Docker, and/or Kubernetes
• 4 years of scripting and automation experience using solutions such as Python, Bash, and/or PowerShell
• API Management and automation
• VMware and VXrail experience
• 2 years of work experience migrating legacy, virtual infrastructure workloads to modern DevOps technology platforms
• 2 years of work experience in an IT role requiring interaction with senior management (i.e., Director level or higher)
• 4 years of experience working in a large matrixed organization
• 4 years of experience working with third party IT vendors and/or systems solution providers
• 4 years of experience writing technical documentation in an infrastructure development environment
