General Ledger (GL) Accountant

About the Role

Our client, a growing organization in the healthcare technology sector, is seeking a hands-on General Ledger Accountant to support their new Controller. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys investigative accounting, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is comfortable cleaning up historical reconciliations while maintaining current processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform balance sheet reconciliations (bank, cash, inventory, and other key accounts).
• Investigate and resolve unreconciled accounts, including prior-year activity (1–2 years).
• Support cash claims processing and related reconciliations.
• Research and resolve inventory accounting issues, ensuring accurate reporting.
• Document and streamline reconciliation processes for improved efficiency.
• Collaborate with the Controller, AP/AR, and cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (required).
• Minimum 2+ years of balance sheet reconciliation experience.
• Strong ERP experience; Sage Intacct experience a plus.
• Proficiency in Excel (VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, pivot tables, formulas).
• Proven ability to work independently with minimal guidance, solving problems and investigating discrepancies.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• A natural curiosity to explore and analyze, paired with a collaborative, team player mindset.
