A well-capitalized, global manufacturing organization is seeking a Director, Global Quality to lead enterprise-wide quality, regulatory, product safety, and sustainability initiatives. Role Overview
The Director, Global Quality will set and execute the company’s global quality management strategy, including regulatory compliance, product safety, supplier quality, customer quality performance, and sustainability. This leader will unify standards across regions while building a strong, consistent culture of quality discipline.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a global quality, regulatory, and product safety organization with responsibility for a distributed team
- Develop talent and establish consistent quality expectations across regions
- Define and maintain global quality, regulatory, and product safety standards aligned with business strategy
- Monitor evolving global regulations and proactively manage compliance risk
- Harmonize processes, systems, and documentation under a global Quality Management System
- Maintain global certifications such as ISO and BRC
- Establish supplier quality standards, audits, and corrective action processes
- Serve as senior quality escalation point for customer complaints and performance issues
- Drive KPIs related to customer complaints and cost of quality
- Partner with product development and operations to embed quality into design and manufacturing
- Lead sustainability initiatives, including global reporting and cross-functional alignment
Experience & Background
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or related discipline
- 10+ years of quality, engineering, or manufacturing experience within plastics, packaging, bottling, or adjacent regulated manufacturing environments
- 5+ years of people leadership experience
- Lean and or Six Sigma expertise strongly preferred
- ASQ certifications (CQE, CQM/OE) preferred
Location & Travel
- Based outside the city of Chicago in the greater metro area
- Up to 30 percent
