Position Summary
This is for 3rd Shift – 11P-7:30 AM (Sunday night through Friday morning)
Our client, a leading manufacturer in a regulated industry, is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to lead a union maintenance team supporting a high-speed manufacturing operation. This role is responsible for ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and supporting production through effective maintenance planning, troubleshooting, and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and develop a team of maintenance technicians and operators on an assigned shift.
- Coordinate maintenance activities to maximize equipment uptime and support production schedules.
- Oversee preventive maintenance, equipment repairs, troubleshooting, and changeover readiness.
- Monitor equipment performance and partner with Production to resolve technical issues and improve efficiency.
- Ensure maintenance work orders, documentation, and shift handoffs are completed accurately.
- Manage parts inventory, maintenance planning, and equipment readiness.
- Coach, train, and evaluate team members while promoting a safe, accountable, and collaborative work environment.
- Support hiring, onboarding, employee development, and performance management.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability, productivity, and operational excellence.
- Provide overtime and weekend coverage as needed to support production requirements.
Qualifications
- College degree, technical certification, trade school, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience maintaining high-speed production or packaging equipment.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills and experience with preventive maintenance programs.
- Experience working in a regulated manufacturing environment preferred.
- PLC experience and bilingual Spanish skills are a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, improve equipment reliability, and drive continuous improvement.
