Seeking a corporate accounting professional that can operate in a fast-moving environment. The Controller/Head of Finance is very collaborative, and this role will have visibility across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the preparation, review, and analysis of financial statements and reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
- Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely completion.
- Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to enhance operational efficiency.
- Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and other accounting deliverables.
- Coordinate and oversee tax reporting and compliance activities, including collaboration with external tax advisors.
- Monitor and analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and coordinating audit activities.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to develop budgets, forecasts, and financial strategies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations (GAAP).
- Proficiency in accounting software, such as FreshBooks, QuickBooks, or equivalent platforms.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Vlookups, pivot tables, and data analysis tools.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
