Senior Manager of Capital Programs

Our client is seeking an experienced engineering leader to oversee capital projects and site readiness initiatives supporting manufacturing expansion, infrastructure development, new product commercialization, and operational growth.
This role will lead multiple concurrent capital programs, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with business priorities, engineering standards, production requirements, and long-term operational strategy. The position will work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Maintenance, Quality, Supply Chain, and external partners to ensure a smooth transition from project execution to stable operations.
Key Responsibilities
Capital Portfolio Leadership
- Lead multiple concurrent capital projects supporting site expansion, capacity growth, infrastructure, and new product commercialization.
- Establish priorities, resources, timelines, and project governance.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, regulatory, and engineering standards.
Site Readiness
- Ensure projects meet production and operational readiness requirements.
- Coordinate commissioning, qualification, startup, training, SOPs, maintenance plans, spare parts, and staffing readiness.
- Drive successful handoff from project completion to operations.
Project Execution
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to approved scope.
- Oversee project managers, contractors, consultants, and equipment suppliers.
- Manage budgets, forecasts, change controls, risks, and cost-to-complete reporting.
- Identify and resolve execution barriers.
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Lead cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders without direct authority.
- Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Maintenance, and Supply Chain.
- Communicate project status, risks, and priorities to senior leadership.
Strategic Planning
- Support capital planning, business cases, project charters, and investment prioritization.
- Align capital investments with long-term site capacity, reliability, and operational goals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required; advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in engineering, capital projects, manufacturing, facilities, or program management.
- Experience leading complex capital projects involving site expansion, infrastructure, capacity growth, or commercialization.
- Strong knowledge of project budgeting, scheduling, risk management, vendor oversight, commissioning, and startup.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence without direct authority.
- Experience in manufacturing or regulated production environments preferred.
- PE License preferred.
