Our growing client in the great state of Texas is seeking a (Senior) Water Resources Engineer. This technical and client-facing role will deliver water resources planning and risk-informed infrastructure studies. This hire will help the organization and their customers to make smart investments by translating technical analysis into actionable, cost-effective recommendations that prioritize resilience, lifecycle value, and client objectives. Your technical analysis and capital-planning recommendations will help our client prioritize projects that deliver long-term value — enabling smarter, more defensible investments in resilient water infrastructure projects in the state of Texas.
ROLE HIGHLIGHTS:
- Lead or support water resource projects from scoping through construction support.
- Develop capital improvement plans, preliminary investment memos, and cost-benefit evaluations to support client investment decisions.
- Prepare feasibility studies, technical memos, permit applications, and construction documents to meet local/state/federal regulatory requirements.
- Provides technical guidance to engineering teams and area supervisors by using system modeling to anticipate capacity requirements for pipelines, wells, storage tanks, and treatment facilities as it relates to water and wastewater systems.
- Coordinate interdisciplinary design efforts with civil, finance, environmental, and permitting teams.
- Conduct water flow modeling and hydraulic studies to inform both existing operations and future development planning.
- Communicate technical results clearly to clients, stakeholders, and decision-makers to support investment prioritization and funding strategies.
- When necessary, he/she may perform field inspections of infrastructure and collaborates with operational teams to identify performance gaps and potential issues.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- BS in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field (MS preferred).
- 5-8+ years’ experience in water resources, water infrastructure planning experience preferred.
- Experience developing project-level business cases, cost estimates, or cost justification documents a plus.
- This hire must be comfortable developing investment-grade analyses, lifecycle-cost comparisons, or benefit-cost ratios for long term infrastructure projects.
- Strong technical writing and client communication skills; experience preparing permitting packages.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in a U.S. state, Texas preferred, or ability to obtain within a reasonable period desired.
- Experience with GIS scripting for data analysis, and CAD (Civil 3D) a must.
