Overview
BrainWorks is currently seeking a Senior Data & FP&A Manager to support a fast-growing, data-driven company the Newport Beach area. This is a mission-critical leadership role for a proactive, client-facing individual who excels in fast-paced, performance-driven environments and can bridge financial strategy with business impact. The Senior Data & FP&A Manager will join a high-performing FP&A team, reporting to senior leadership, and will be responsible for analyzing sales performance, driving growth through incentive changes, and optimizing profitability across multiple campaigns and clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales and Profitability Analytics
- Analyze sales performance and identify areas for growth using creative and complex sales incentive structures.
- Collaborate with sales leaders and teams to adjust compensation plans and consumer offers, driving overall growth and quality.
- Develop financial and operational targets/goals with executives and clients to optimize revenue.
- Manage the pro-forma P&L for multiple clients, ensuring accurate forecasting and analysis of the lifetime value of customers.
- Data Modeling and Reporting
- Utilize Tableau (80% of reporting), Salesforce (data repository), and Excel for financial modeling and reporting, ensuring clear, concise, and actionable insights.
- Build, manage, and validate large-scale models that represent pro-forma P&Ls, compensation structures, and revenue forecasts.
- Ensure accurate daily performance dashboards, identifying trends and suggesting optimizations.
- Client-Facing Strategy and Communication
- Serve as the key point of contact with clients to analyze campaign success, recommend strategic improvements, and resolve discrepancies.
- Deliver concise, actionable insights to clients and internal stakeholders, driving business decisions and ensuring campaign success.
- Manage the accuracy and timeliness of commissions calculations for all campaigns.
- Process Improvement and Operations
- Bring organization and structure to the FP&A team by developing and refining SOPs and best practices.
- Oversee the implementation of process improvements and automation opportunities to enhance efficiency.
- Ensure that all data elements are standardized and understood within the context of reporting and operations.
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience in FP&A, business intelligence, analytics, or lead generation environments.
- Advanced proficiency in Tableau (including LOD expressions and calculated fields), Salesforce (data repository), and Excel modeling for financial forecasting, P&Ls, and compensation planning.
- Proven experience in handling complex data environments, including large datasets (tens of thousands to millions of data points).
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to manage client relationships and collaborate with internal stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- High attention to detail, strong critical thinking, and a proactive attitude.

- Operates in the “middle sweet spot” between financial modeling and technical data engineering, focusing on insights and recommendations without needing deep back-end engineering skills.
- Highly analytical, with a natural curiosity and strong commercial intuition.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, well-spoken, and proactive in a client-facing environment.
- Able to balance daily reporting demands with strategic decision-making at the executive level.
Compensation and Benefits
In alignment with California’s pay transparency and fair hiring practices, the target annual base salary range for this position is $140,000 – $175,000. Final compensation will be based on several factors, including relevant experience, skills, and work location. This position is also eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, which may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k), paid time off, and other employee programs.
