We are seeking a REMOTE associate who has 3+ years of experience for our Texas office. If you work well from home, have trial experience with excellent writing skills. The Practice is seeking a Transportation Litigation Attorney to help with a large international logistics services provider. A strong background in litigation, specifically the transportation sector with understanding of regulations. This opportunity will provide challenging cases where you can provide counsel to the client and keep them updated.
Responsibilities:
- With mentorship and guidance of senior attorneys you will assist in the management of caseloads from beginning to end.
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, legal memoranda, attend court hearings, take and defend depositions and mediations
- Negotiate settlements and agreements on behalf of clients, demonstrating strong advocacy and negotiation skills.
- Work in a collaborative manner with attorneys across departments in multiple offices at times.
- Any appellate experience is a plus in this role. You will be drafting case analysis reports to client stakeholders with an eye towards developing proactive resolution strategies.
Qualifications
- JD from an ABA accredited law school with active Texas bar license
- 3-5+ years of general casualty litigation experience, will consider more experience
- Experience in transportation and logistics in the trucking industry understanding regulatory requirements
- Deposition and motion practice experience as well as trial experience
- Strong writing skills (appellate experience is a plus)
- Excellent technical skills
