Bill Ross

Bill Ross has been in the executive search industry for over 20 years.  He began his career during the fast-moving dotcom era working for a boutique, retained executive search firm that represented a range of venture-backed, technology companies.  Bill was then recruited into Heidrick & Struggles as they were formalizing their Global Private Equity Practice.  He then had the opportunity to join the retained, executive search firm, Stanton Chase International where he had a long career representing a broad range of enterprise to middle-market companies across multiple industries.  Prior to joining BrainWorks, Bill spent the last 10 years leading his own practice and as a Partner with a boutique search firm focused on early to growth stage PE-backed technology clients.

Bill has completed hundreds of searches representing public and privately held companies across all major industry sectors.  The roles have spanned from Board, CEO, and COO to C-level to Manager level searches across Finance, Marketing, Product Management, and Sales.  Finance leadership positions have been an area of particular strength with success placing CFO, VP Finance, Controller, FP&A, M&A, and other critical hires throughout the finance stack.

Bill holds a Bachelor’s degree from San Diego State University.  He enjoys playing golf and spending time with his family including road trips across the West and exploring Mexico.
