WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

The Logistics Planner is an integral part of the Operations team, reporting directly to the Manager, Logistics. This individual will effectively manage timelines to ensure the planning and execution of optimal inventory levels. In addition, the Logistics Planner will utilize supporting infrastructure to work interdependently with internal and external partners to maximize our overall Logistics performance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Drive transportation planning needs and process documentation requests
  • Plan and track shipments according to internal delivery requirements
  • Travel to 3PLs, Distribution Centers and CoMans acting as an on-site liaison (Travel: 5-10%)
  • Collaborate with our Warehouse, CoMans and Transportation vendors to optimize efficiencies
  • Track supplier accounts through performance evaluations and price validations
  • Review and apply internal delivery requirements to plan and track shipments
  • Investigate and substantiate customer fines and penalties for service failures
  • File OS&D freight claims and oversee the returns process
  • Meet cost, productivity, service, and timing targets
  • Generate daily PON, as required
  • Receive PON, as required
  • Partner with Supply Planning and Procurement teams for PONs, TONs, customer POs, and RMAs, as needed
  • Reconcile Inventory for our Seasonal Warehouse partners & be a backup for our main warehouse
  • Monitoring daily EDI Transactions and correcting issues
  • Participate in special projects and assignments, as required
  • Participate in all other miscellaneous SMPL and departmental tasks, as required
  • Attend departmental/cross-functional meetings

KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of cold chain and temperature-controlled transportation
  • Knowledge of food safety, quality, and regulatory guidelines for warehousing operations and transportation
  • Knowledge of inventory requirements and concepts
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to hold external partners accountable
  • Ability to Re-prioritize tasks to meet daily demands and still meet deadlines for projects

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BA/BS in Logistics, Supply Chain, preferred
  • Minimum 2 to 4 years’ experience in Logistics, Transportation or Customer Service within CPG
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (word, excel, PPT). Be able to use/export from Power BI
  • Transportation coordination experience, highly preferred
  • Experience with international logistics and multi-modal transport (i.e. OTR, Rail, Air, and Ocean)

** Work is performed in a fast-paced office environment and may be stressful at times. Work may require sitting for long periods of time; requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, calculator, telephone, copier and fax machine and scanner.

The CO base salary range is: $65,000 – $75,000, exclusive of benefits or additional incentives (https://www.thesimplygoodfoodscompany.com/careers). Additionally, this position is eligible for a 5% annual short-term incentive. If you are hired at Simply Goods Foods, your final base salary compensation will be determined based upon such factors as: geographic locations, skills, training, education and/or experience. Please keep in mind that hiring at the compensation range maximum would not be typical to allow for future and continued salary growth.
