Accounting Manager
Location: Hybrid in DTC (Onsite M-Th; WFH on Friday)
Hourly Rate: $50/HR
Duration: 3-6 Months; Contract-to-Hire

We are actively working with an awesome local engineering firm seeking new Accounting Manager to join their team on a contract to hire basis. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for the full scope of general accounting functions including balance sheet ownership for month-end close and revenue accounting. The ideal candidate has experience in smaller company environments (engineering in a plus) where he/she has owned it all.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ownership of monthly accounting and month-end close process of assigned balance sheet accounts and revenue accounting
  • Complete monthly project accounting and job costing reviews for each project
  • Monthly financial statement review and preparation
  • Support month-end reporting and analysis
  • Process all monthly transactions for AP, AR and Payroll (50+ employees)
  • Assist with ad-hoc accounting requests, analysis, special projects and audits

MUST HAVE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5+ years of accounting experience
  • Experience with full ownership of the accounting function including 40+ AP and 100+ AR transactions on a montly basis
  • Experience owning payroll and payroll accounting for 50+ employees
  • Experience with month-end and year-end financial reporting
  • Experience with Sales & Use tax
  • Excel: Intermediate – PTs and Lookups

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in the engineering/construction industry or professional services industry with project accounting
  • CPA
  • Experience with international payroll
  • Experience in an ESOP environment
  • Experience with Deltek Ajera or other engineering/construction specific ERP systems
