Our client, a growing manufacturing facility, is seeking an experienced Assistant Plant Manager to lead their production operations. This newly created role will be responsible for overseeing the performance of a large production team, ensuring strict adherence to safety and quality standards, and driving operational efficiency. The manager will play a key role in implementing new processes from the ground up, leveraging automation, and driving continuous improvement initiatives from scratch. This hands-on leadership position requires strong technical expertise in managing high-speed processing systems and offers significant growth potential for future career advancement.
Responsibilities Include:
- Responsible for the P&L of the business unit, ensuring profitability and cost control.
- Ensure that all production processes are optimized for efficiency, quality, and safety, adhering to FDA and GMP standards.
- Lead and coach a large team of associates, fostering a culture of continuous improvement while meeting productivity, quality, cost, and safety objectives.
- Implement automation to streamline processes, reduce costs, and minimize errors.
- Drive systematic identification and elimination of losses in production processes, improving inventory, costs, time, and quality.
- Hire, and train employees, while setting clear performance expectations and providing consistent feedback.
Ideal Candidate will Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or chemical engineering preferred; MBA or equivalent a plus with 10-15+ years in operations leadership or engineering, with a strong background in high-speed processing systems and automation.
- Experience managing people and building cross-functional teams is essential.
- Prior experience with FDA, GMP, and HACCP standards is highly preferred.
