Our client, a global leader in the consumer packaged goods industry, is seeking an experienced Business Unit Manager to lead operations at their Indianapolis manufacturing facility. This on-site role will oversee production, safety, quality, and team development to drive efficiency and profitability.
Responsibilities include:
- Own full P&L for the business unit and lead a team of 80–100 hourly associates.
- Drive performance in safety, quality, cost, and productivity.
- Leverage automation and process improvements to reduce cost and error.
- Support new product launches from an operational perspective.
- Recruit, train, and develop talent while fostering a high-performance culture.
- Ensure compliance with FDA, GMP, and HACCP standards.
- Achieve key KPIs across safety, delivery, cost, and employee engagement.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering preferred; MBA a plus with 10+ years of experience in operations leadership or engineering within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with high-speed processing, automation, and food-grade environments.
- Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and continuous improvement skills.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform hands-on leadership in a plant setting.
- Position is based in Indianapolis; relocation assistance is available.
