BrainWorks Search is partnered We’re partnered with a leading utilities company to fill an Design Engineer (Substation Engineering) role just outside of Tulsa, OK, supporting the design and development of critical electric utility infrastructure.
This role focuses on the physical design and layout of new and existing substations.
Priorities:
- Design physical layouts for substation projects, including general arrangements, grounding, conduit, and control building specs
- Prepare project scopes, one-line diagrams, cost estimates, and bid documents
- Create and revise CAD drawings for substations, incorporating redlines and as-built updates
- Ensure compliance with RUS, NEC, NESC, ANSI, and IEEE standards
- Design SPCC plans for oil containment and substation grading plans for proper drainage
- Review and approve vendor drawings and submittals
Qualifications:
- 4–7 years + of substation engineering experience
- Bachelor’s in Mechanical, Civil, or Electrical Engineering
- AutoCAD Civil 3D skills
- Strong knowledge of substation components, physical clearances, and utility standards
