Company & Position Overview:

BrainWorks is working with a $2B+ Distributor/manufacturer of heavy-duty industrial equipment. The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Leader, will oversee all aspects of the company’s EHS program meant to ensure a safe, healthy, and compliant work environment. The EHS Manager works with company leaders across all divisions to develop and implement proactive policies, procedures, and training programs designed to foster and maintain an industry-best Zero Incident safety culture, with the ultimate goal of minimizing the frequency and severity of accidents and injuries. They will lead a team of regional Safety Coordinators and report directly to the General Counsel.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Initiates, develops, and implements proactive policies, procedures and training programs to ensure that EHS measures are implemented and maintained throughout the company, based on loss experience, external trends, and OSHA, MSHA, EPA, and other applicable governmental regulations.
  • Conducts regular benchmarking analyses to compare company’s EHS programs and results against peer companies and industry leaders in EHS.
  • Oversees administration, development, and modification of incident reporting and tracking databases. Directs investigations into incidents to determine root cause and recommend corrective actions.
  • Conducts regular risk audits on all buildings, facilities and operations to identify and minimize risk exposures.
  • Provides guidance regarding “best practices” for business security standards, solutions, and guidance to maintain a secure environment for the protection of employees, personnel property, and company assets.
  • Leads monthly meetings of Senior Safety Committee comprised of company executives to review incidents, identify risk trends, and recommend solutions. Prepares and distributes regular minutes and reports to Committee members.
  • Generates the OSHA 300 Log/300A summaries, MSHA Log, and EPA reports and various other EHS reports for local, state, and federal government.
  • Oversees administration of employee training and testing for respiratory protection and hearing conservation programs and CPR/First Aid training. Continuously evaluates the use of all types of personal protective equipment and suggests improvement where needed.
