Engineering Manager

BrainWorks Search is partnered with a leading automotive manufacturer outside of Detroit seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead its engineering team. This role will provide technical and people leadership within a fast-paced die-casting manufacturing environment, with responsibility for team development, engineering activities, and supporting current and future programs.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team that includes Manufacturing Engineers and Program Management resources
• Provide hands-on technical leadership across manufacturing operations
• Coach, mentor, and develop engineering talent while building a strong, accountable team
• Drive manufacturing performance, equipment reliability, continuous improvement, and problem resolution
• Partner with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, Tooling, and other functions to address production challenges
• Support quoting activities, job justification, capacity analysis, and planning for new and existing business
• Evaluate manufacturing requirements for new programs and support successful program launches
• Drive root-cause problem solving and long-term corrective actions for recurring manufacturing issues
• Support improvements in plant efficiency, equipment performance, quality, and OEE
• Maintain a strong presence on the manufacturing floor and provide technical guidance to the engineering organization

Qualifications

• Significant engineering experience within automotive manufacturing
• Die-casting experience required
• Previous engineering leadership or management experience with a demonstrated ability to build, mentor, and develop teams
• Strong understanding of manufacturing equipment, tooling, automation, and plant-floor operations
• Experience supporting quoting, capacity planning, job justification, and new business/program launches

Compensation

• Base salary: $120,000–$150,000 + bonus
• 100% company paid employee benefits
