Location: Remote with Travel
Travel: Up to 2 weeks per month (Oregon and New Jersey)
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: 3-6 Months (extension likely)

We are seeking an experienced Controller to support the integration of a newly acquired company. The successful candidate will manage the monthly accounting cycle and accounting team for the acquired company, while preparing the company for a successful integration into the parent company, including converting the company from a Cash Basis to an Accrual Basis accounting methodology.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a small accounting team through the monthly accounting cycle
  • Ownership of the monthly close process
  • Take initiative to review and improve process and procedures including creation of SOPs, reducing the monthly close period, and creating efficiencies to the monthly cycle
  • Convert the company from Cash Basis to Accrual Basis accounting prior to the integration into the parent company
  • Convert the company from QuickBooks to MS Dynamics

Must Have Qualifications (must meet all):

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Accounting or Finance preferred)
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in accounting, including 2+ years as a Controller
  • Controller level experience leading a company through an integration either on the buy-side or the sell-side of an M&A transaction
  • Experience converting a company from a Cash Basis to Accrual Basis accounting methodology
  • Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to create pivot tables and v-lookups from scratch
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 2 weeks per month (heaviest travel on the front end of the assignment)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in QuickBooks and MS Dynamics preferred
  • Experience in the Med Device industry
  • Experience with Gross to Net and Rebates accounting
