Position Overview
This role will play a key role in supporting day-to-day accounting operations, month-end close, and public company reporting efforts.
You’ll work closely with the Controller and CFO in a small, collaborative environment where adaptability, independence, and strong communication are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and support month-end close, including journal entries and GL reconciliations
- Assist with quarterly reporting (10-Q) and annual filings (10-K)
- Support SEC reporting and audit requests
- Participate in ad hoc projects
- Collaborate on AP/check runs, payroll, and sales tax activities
- Maintain fixed assets and inventory accounting (relatively low complexity)
- Work within QuickBooks Online and Shopify, with potential future ERP transition
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (Finance acceptable with relevant experience)
- 5+ years of accounting experience
- CPA preferred, but not required
- Experience with public company reporting (10-K/10-Q) strongly preferred (trainable for strong candidates)
- Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, formulas)
- Experience working in fast-paced, evolving environments
Work Environment
- Hybrid schedule with consistent in-office collaboration
- Typically 40–45 hours/week, with occasional increases during filings
- Fast-paced but not consistently high-pressure
- Mix of heads-down work and team interaction; open-door, collaborative culture
