Responsibilities:

PE Associates are an integral part of the investment team working directly with executives and senior members of the firm, executing, and performing diligence on new investments as well as supporting and monitoring existing portfolio companies. The Associate role is intended to be a 3 year program, however, there may be cases where an Associate would be offered a longer term role. As an Associate you will have the opportunity to
learn and gain experience in the private equity business in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. Associates participate at all levels of the firm’s investment activities and are integral members of a 3-4 person investment team.

Responsibilities include:

• Support transaction execution for both new investments and add-on acquisitions made by its portfolio companies, including organizing and completing due diligence and participating in raising debt
financing and legal documentation
• Assist management of portfolio company investments, including monitoring and analyzing portfolio financial performance and working closely with portfolio management teams including the CEO, CFO and other executives
• Perform highly complex and flexible valuation and LBO analyses to support capital structure recommendations to finance buyout transactions and/or recapitalizations
• Obtain confidential investment information from investment bankers and other referral sources, and perform the initial deal screening reviews and provide a recommendation
• Write comprehensive investment memoranda and other internal documents used to make investment decisions
• Perform detailed historical financial analyses and build forecast scenarios

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience in investment banking, equity or mezzanine investing, consulting, transaction advisory services or corporate development positions at highly acquisitive corporations
• Advanced financial modeling and valuation skills applicable to structured finance transactions
• Persuasive and critical thinking skills with an ability to communicate in written and verbal form with conviction; comfort with a dynamic, fast-changing environment
• Ability to communicate complex information in easy-to-understand, direct language, comfort with public speaking and interaction with senior business executives
• Successful candidates are very ambitious, resourceful, self-directed individual who anticipate issues and needs, demonstrate good judgment in decision-making and can self-prioritize
• Professional with unquestionable integrity, credibility, and character who has demonstrated high moral and ethical behavior
• Enjoys working as part of a team, collaborating with others, and having fun
• Ties or desire to live in the Midwest preferred
