BrainWorks has been retained by a $115M+ commercial and industrial services contractor. This highly respected company has 35+ years in business within the Georgia market. The project executive position manages local scheduling and real-time operations that facilitate the maximization of resources (human and automated) to achieve customer satisfaction, productivity, schedule adherence and economic goals of the construction group, including the implementation and success sections of the annual strategic business plan. The ideal candidate will have strong business financial acumen with proven P&L and people management experience within mechanical contracting or other commercial services space in a Union Environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage, hire and develop a team of six (6) project management direct reports with up to 200 indirect reports across field installation.
  • Effectively manage all project related costs throughout the project cycle by conducting detailed project reviews before, during, and after construction.
  • Maintain key customer relationships.
  • Perform marketing, business development and sales functions as necessary to maintain backlog and revenue goals.
  • Oversee RFPs, make go/no-go decisions in concert with the Estimating Manager.
  • Closely monitor and level workload amongst your team to ensure workload aligns with individual’s capabilities and strengths.
  • Participate in the engineering and design process on all Construction Group design/build projects. Review all design/build drawings to verify they meet design intent, are within budget and meet design and quality standards.
  • Planning, organizing, controlling, and coordinating all aspects of projects under your purview.
  • Scheduling labor based on the construction schedule while factoring in the complexity of the job against the capabilities of the available crews.
  • Maintaining liaison with the Vice President of Construction and the Accounting Manager on problems with accounts receivables.
  • Working with department managers and the owner-team in support of the corporate goals, mission, and vision.
  • Managing the necessary administrative records and controls to protect the interests of the corporation and the customer, to include prompt and accurate invoicing.
  • Resolving customer concerns and complaints in a timely, efficient, and cost-effective manner.
  • Working with suppliers and vendors on pricing, performance, reliability, and availability.
  • Providing bi-annual performance appraisals for all Construction Group employees under your purview.
  • Implementing quality control procedures for the Construction Group to ensure optimal customer service, efficient use of equipment and time, and meeting departmental strategic and budgetary goals.

Qualifications and Requirements:

1.Bachelor’s degree in construction or business or equivalent combination of technical training and experience which includes forecasting, scheduling, and real-time project management.
2.Seven or more years of combined practical and academic experience in mechanical contracting
3.A minimum of one year experience supervising, coaching, and developing staff.
4.Ability to negotiate with suppliers, delivery schedules, and subcontractors.
5.Ability to successfully direct and coordinate the requirements of the customers, employees, outside suppliers, delivery schedules and subcontractors.
6.Excellent leadership and supervisory skills to motive employees to higher achievements and to keep the installation department morale high.
7.Skill and ability in promoting and selling projects on the phone and face to face.
8.Ability to comprehend and implement applicable related federal, state and local governmental laws, codes, and regulations.
9.Have a valid driver’s license.
10.Strong vendor/supplier knowledge and relationships.

  • Travel is primarily locally during the business day, although some out of the area travel and overnight may be expected.
