Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Estimator Sales Representative to join our team specializing in excavation and earthwork services. This dual-role position requires expertise in estimating project costs accurately while building strong client relationships to drive sales. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of excavation, grading, site preparation, and earthwork, as well as a proven ability to manage client interactions and deliver customized solutions that meet customer needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Estimating:
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and site conditions to prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for excavation and earthwork projects.
- Conduct site visits to evaluate scope, logistics, and potential challenges.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure accurate pricing for labor, materials, equipment, and timelines.
- Develop comprehensive bid proposals, including schedules and scope clarifications, to present to clients.
- Stay updated on industry pricing trends, labor rates, and material costs to maintain competitive estimates.
Sales:
- Generate and manage leads through networking, referrals, and outreach efforts to grow the client base.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with general contractors, developers, architects, and property owners.
- Present project proposals to clients, addressing their questions and demonstrating the value of our services.
- Negotiate contracts and close sales while ensuring alignment with company profitability goals.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the bidding and pre-construction phases.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an estimator sales professional in excavation, earthwork, or related industries.
- Strong knowledge of site preparation, grading, soil conditions, and heavy equipment operation.
- Familiarity with construction plans, blueprints, and specifications.
- Proficiency in estimating software and tools (EarthWorks or Agtek).
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple bids and clients simultaneously.
