Position Overview:

We are seeking a Senior Accounting Specialist to join the Stop/Loss Claims Group. This role is data-intensive, requiring a strong background in analyzing and sorting through large datasets. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in Excel and a solid foundation in finance or accounting. Experience within the insurance industry is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and manage large data sets, sorting through thousands of lines of information to identify trends and actionable insights.
  • Utilize advanced Excel skills to create pivot tables, V-lookups, and perform data analysis from scratch.
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate reporting and effective financial analysis.
  • Support the claims team with data-driven decision-making and problem-solving.
  • Contribute to process improvements and efficiency within the department.

Qualifications:

Must-Haves:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in a role requiring extensive data analysis and the management of large datasets.
  • Proficiency in Excel, including creating Pivot Tables and V-lookups from scratch.

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Experience with Excel Macros.
  • Background in the insurance industry or exposure to stop/loss claims.
