Assistant Controller (Contract-to-Hire)

Location: Ocala, FL

Pay Rate: $45-55/HR

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to join our client in Ocala, FL. The successful candidate will oversee a team of four individuals and manage the financial processes of the organization while reporting to the Controller. There are between 100-200 orders processed daily, so this role requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong background in accounting and finance.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of four employees, providing leadership, guidance, and support in their daily tasks.
  • Oversee Accounts Receivable (AR) and Collections processes, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing and collection of payments.
  • Supervise Accounts Payable (AP) invoicing procedures to maintain efficient payment processes.
  • Review cash flow and execute wire transfers for international factory payments.
  • Coordinate month-end close activities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in financial reporting.
  • Collaborate with external CPA firm, providing necessary financial data and supporting documentation for audits and tax filings.
  • Monitor payroll processes to ensure accurate timekeeping and adherence to company policies.
  • Assist with Employee Benefits
  • Utilize QuickBooks Enterprise Diamond for financial transactions and reporting.
  • Utilize Excel to create pivot tables and v-lookups for data analysis and reporting.

Must Haves:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5+ years of experience in cash flow management, month-end close, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll oversight.
  • Experience overseeing a team of 2 or more
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Enterprise preferred or another ERP such as NetSuite, MS Dynamics, SAP, Oracle, JDEdwards, etc.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to create pivot tables and v-lookups from scratch.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
