WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

As the Simply Good Foods Company continues to grow, we’re seeking an innovative Brand Manager to drive our core Atkins business. The Brand Manager is responsible for delivering business results and shaping a 3-year growth strategy through data and consumer insights, creative ideation, and cross-functional leadership. This individual will have a great deal of responsibility and exposure to our Executive team. As such, the Brand Manager will need to demonstrate a general manager mindset, including strategic thinking, thriving in the ambiguity of innovation, and inspiring teams with a “can do” attitude.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Drive brand development and strategic plan execution by providing appropriate category, consumer, and competitive insights & analysis
• Manage key issues and projects in support of the business objectives
• Lead cross-functional teams on the development of new products for our base business from idea to launch (i.e., formulation, product feasibility validation, packaging development and sales execution); Present and align Executive team through Stage Gate process
• Partner with cross-functional teams to identify, evaluate, and prioritize growth opportunities; Assess opportunity feasibility and develop go-to-market launch plans
• Communicate cross-functionally to ensure marketing strategies and goals are understood throughout all touchpoints
• Manage portfolio strategy, business case assessment, and monthly business reporting
• Lead the planning and execution of shopper and consumer marketing campaigns / activities
• Develop and manage marketing budgets and product P&Ls; Monitor ROI on all marketing spend
• Utilize and leverage data to make informed decisions regarding marketing investments and priorities
• Coach and mentor junior team members to develop brand marketing capabilities and drive the culture
• Conduct special projects, analyses, and trackers, as required
• Ensure that packaging labels are accurate and in compliance with acceptable regulations, as needed
• Participate / Lead special projects and assignments, as required
• Participate in all other miscellaneous SMPL and departmental tasks, as required
• Attend departmental / cross-functional meetings

SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE:

  • Knowledge of syndicated data services such as IRI and/or Nielsen; IRI, preferred
  • Ability to interpret and apply research learnings
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outloo
  • Confidence in presenting and synthesizing complex information into easy-to-understand narratives
  • Ability to develop / coach individuals to maximize their abilities and together become a high performing team
  • Excellent business acumen and general management skills; Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization
  • Strong intellectual curiosity; Ability to “think outside of the box” to create novel solutions to business challenges
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree, required; MBA, preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in CPG brand management, required; Experience in food industry; preferred
  • Experience leading and launching new innovation
  • Experience working with agencies to develop marketing plans

** Work is performed in a fast-paced office environment and may be stressful at times. Work may require sitting for long periods of time; requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, calculator, telephone, copier and fax machine and scanner.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
The health, satisfaction and security of our employees and their families are important to us and an important part of reaching our organization’s goals. We offer a total rewards package that includes valuable and competitive compensation and benefit plans. These programs reflect our commitment to attracting and retaining top talent and keeping our staff healthy and secure. The compensation available for this role includes base salary, and an annual short-term bonus. All incentive plans are subject to management and Board of Directors discretion.

The hiring range for this role is $105,000 – $125,000 annual base salary.

** Compensation to commensurate with level of knowledge, skills, and experience applicable to the position.

The annual short-term incentive target for this role is: 20% of your annual base salary.
