The Controller is a critical role responsible for overseeing the financial operations of our organization, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, and maintaining effective internal controls. This position will manage the general ledger, prepare monthly financial reports, and provide key operational metrics. Reporting directly to the CFO, the Controller will manage a team of finance professionals and collaborate closely with senior leadership to support strategic decision-making through detailed financial analysis and insights.

What You’ll Do

  • Assume responsibility for the general ledger, monthly reporting package including P&L, balance sheet, variance analysis, ARR waterfall, month-end close, and key operational metrics
  • Provide diagnostic and areas for improvement within the finance and accounting function while assessing opportunities to refine and streamline
  • Harness the features of the new ERP system, NetSuite, to improve processes, internal controls, and reporting efficiencies
  • Lead post-acquisition integration and develop consolidated processes and controls, etc.
  • Manage communications with external auditors, tax preparers, tax returns, etc.
  • Assist in the preparation of cash flow reporting and bank reconciliation
  • Optimize the internal reporting capabilities and track crucial KPIs
  • Provide your own data driven analytics and insights that help SLT uncover trends, opportunities, and risk that will inform future strategic and financial decision making
  • Partner with our CFO and SLT to develop a strategic plan and budget that demonstrates clear understanding of the business
  • Analyze customer base to understand contract renewal opportunities and risks in partnerships alongside the SLT
  • Partner with other functional areas to help understand the business better and how their decisions impact company performance and investment outcomes
  • Manage and lead the accounting team

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field; CPA or CMA certificate is preferred
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 3 years in a managerial role
  • Experience with cash flow reporting
  • Knowledge operating in a SaaS platform and understanding SaaS KPI levels (MRR, ARR, LTV, CAC, etc.)
  • NetSuite expertise is highly desired
  • Experience integrating newly acquired companies and aiding future M&A activity
  • Strong understanding of general ledger, financial reporting, and month-end close processes
  • Proficiency in financial analysis, variance analysis, and KPI tracking
  • Experience with external audits, tax preparation, and compliance with tax regulations
  • Proven ability to optimize internal reporting capabilities and provide actionable financial insights
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to diagnose issues, streamline processes, and improve financial functions
  • Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with senior leadership and other functional areas
