A growing and stable manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Controller to lead its accounting and financial operations. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys partnering with operations, improving systems, and helping scale a business in growth mode.
The Controller will own the monthly close, financial reporting, cost accounting, and ERP optimization, while managing a small accounting team. The company currently has approximately 103 employees, $60M in revenue, and is on a path toward $100M+ in sales.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the accounting function, including supervision of at least 2 staff
- Prepare and present accurate monthly financial statements
- Own the monthly close process (7-day close or faster)
- Manage manufacturing cost accounting, including standard costing and inventory
- Oversee purchasing, demand planning, and working capital management
- Partner closely with operations and production teams across 5 manufacturing lines
- Maintain and improve a mid-to-large ERP system; clean up prior ERP implementations
- Build budgets, forecasts, and financial models in collaboration with Sales & Marketing
- Coordinate with external auditors and support audit processes
- Drive automation and continuous process improvement initiatives
- Support R&D tax credit analysis and documentation
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls
Qualifications:
- CPA required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- Strong background in manufacturing accounting
- Extensive experience with cost accounting, standard costing, and inventory
- ERP experience required (Acumatica strongly preferred)
- Advanced Excel skills (financial modeling, variance analysis, KPIs)
- Experience supporting a growing or scaling business
- Comfortable working cross-functionally with operations and production teams
- Spanish bilingual is a plus
Additional Details:
- Payroll is handled by HR
- Bonus is discretionary, up to $15K
- Preferred start date: Mid-February
