OVERVIEW

As the Global Director of Materials Management, you will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing the entire materials management function across our global operations. Your strategic leadership will ensure efficient procurement and inventory management to ensure we meet customer demand and your people leadership will help build a high performing culture with a continuous improvement mindset.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement global materials management strategies aligned with corporate objectives to optimize cost, quality and delivery efficiency.
  • Implement inventory control measures to minimize holding costs while ensuring adequate stock levels to meet production and customer demands.
  • Provide strategic direction and leadership to a global team of materials management professionals.
  • Lead and mentor a team of professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. Provide guidance and coaching to team members, setting clear objectives and performance expectations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Sales, Operations, Finance and Quality to align materials management strategies with overall business goals.
  • Develops and maintains demand planning and forecasting models to deliver business insights and provide our customers top of the line service while driving profitable growth for the company
  • Define Demand Planning best practices, create and maintain related processes and procedures executed in the divisions.
  • Create and distribute ad hoc reports as requested by functional departments or internal management.
  • Monitor key performance indicators and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance materials management processes and efficiency.
  • Develop global policies and processes to ensure effective and efficient inventory practices.
  • Partner with Finance and Sales to develops yearly/seasonal inventory plans by product hierarchy and plant to optimize company inventory investments.
  • Partner with Sourcing to support and build proactive supplier relationships.
  • Support and embody the company’s commitment to its Vision, Values and Purpose.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education and/or Experience:
  • A bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain or a related field
  • 7+ years of related experience
  • Strong understanding of global materials management dynamics
  • Excellent strategic planning, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and work collaboratively across functions
  • Strong communication, negotiation and business analysis and management skills
