BrainWorks is partnered with a non-profit organization for their Director of Asset Management to lead and oversee the management of a diverse property portfolio. This role offers the opportunity to drive operational excellence, enhance property performance, and lead a talented team while maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders. The ideal candidate will bring strategic vision, leadership, and a passion for sustainable property management.
Priorities:
- Manage and oversee the activities of property management teams across multiple regions, ensuring operations align with organizational values and goals. Regularly report key developments and performance updates to senior leadership.
- Lead major capital improvement projects, including energy efficiency retrofits, and monitor property performance to ensure financial and operational targets are met. Take an active role in maintaining and improving asset quality and overall portfolio value.
- Supervise and mentor asset managers, coordinators, and interns, fostering an environment of growth, collaboration, and excellence. Provide training and professional development opportunities to support team success.
- Champion the integration of environmentally sustainable practices within property operations. Lead efforts to enhance energy efficiency and identify opportunities for sustainability improvements across the portfolio.
- Review and assess property budgets, audits, and financial performance reports. Provide recommendations and insights to leadership, ensuring that properties meet their financial goals and stay within budget.
- Oversee compliance with all applicable regulations, ensuring properties meet required standards.
- Continuously monitor property performance, making necessary adjustments to improve operational, physical, and financial outcomes.
Compensation/Perks:
- Up to $175k + 15% bonus
- HYBRID – 1 day a week on-site, in SAN DIEGO, CA
- Every other Friday off and an alternate workweek: 9-hour days for 4 days one week, followed by full days the next.
MUST have:
- Experience in tax-credit financed affordable housing
- Experience with HUD & Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LITCH)
- Managed teams of Asset Managers
