This role exists to elevate our clients brand presence and thought leadership through a comprehensive content strategy. The Head of Content and Communications will lead the creation and execution of diverse, full-funnel content that supports revenue goals and enhances market position.
The Opportunity
Our client is seeking a seasoned content strategy leader to join their dynamic team of marketing and communications professionals. Reporting directly to the Chief Marketing Officer, you will spearhead a robust content program designed to drive engagement and thought leadership across various channels. Your expertise in digital marketing and storytelling will be pivotal in producing impactful written, visual, and audio content.
You will inherit a talented team of 4 today, with the opportunity to further develop and expand it. This role demands close collaboration with the entire Marketing team and company leadership. We seek a candidate who thrives in a fast-paced environment, possesses deep healthcare and analytics knowledge, and excels in delivering credible and compelling messaging.
Outcomes & Responsibilities
- Key Outcomes in the First 12 Months:
- Successfully launch and maintain a rolling 12-month content calendar with clear KPIs to measure content impact.
- Deliver a strategy that drives measurable increases in engagement, conversions, media visibility, and mentions, in collaboration with Demand Marketing and PR/Comms teams.
- Establish a formalized editorial review workflow, significantly reducing content review cycle times.
Essential Job Duties:
- Develop and execute a content editorial calendar that aligns with thought leadership initiatives and amplifies brand presence.
- Produce a suite of high-quality content, including bylines, blogs, case studies, and digital assets.
- Collaborate with Product Marketing and Customer teams to create data-driven stories leveraging insights from the Healthcare Map.
- Craft abstracts, talking points, and presentations to enhance executive visibility at key events and conferences.
- Implement a streamlined editorial review process to ensure consistent brand voice and quality.
- Design tailored content strategies for paid, earned, owned, and social media platforms.
- Build and nurture relationships with senior leaders and external stakeholders to identify and amplify compelling narratives.
Competencies & Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience:
- Proven leadership experience in healthcare and/or tech communications and content marketing.
- Exceptional writing skills, particularly in B2B healthcare thought leadership messaging.
- Demonstrated success in content strategy and message crafting that cuts through market noise.
- Experience with diverse content types across paid, earned, owned, and social media channels.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with senior leaders, industry influencers, and clients.
- A collaborative mindset, effective project management, and a hands-on approach to getting things done.
- A growth-oriented, humble expert with the ability to take ideas from conception to implementation.
- Deep understanding of the healthcare market, preferably with experience in digital health.
