WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

Simply Good is looking for a passionate and experienced Sales Director (Walmart) to spearhead our Walmart business based in Bentonville, AR. This pivotal role involves crafting our overarching Walmart strategy and devising annual business plans to drive growth. Responsibilities encompass ownership of product profitability, trade fund management, and expense oversight, alongside fostering the expansion of Walmart’s business, including core items, pricing strategies, and new growth avenues. With duties ranging from HQ sales calls to daily supervision of accounts, the Director will ensure achievement of Net sales budgets while managing trade, allowances, and operational costs within company guidelines.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and implement Walmart business plans, strategies, and revenue goals, with a focus on driving profitable growth by attaining plan sales goals, comp sales growth, positive comp contribution, and increased customer transactions.
• Analyze and present internal and Walmart data, oversee weekly replenishment, and manage inventory, providing business analysis and insight through the creation of weekly and monthly reports and forecasts.
• Create and maintain promotional calendars for Walmart and key distributors, while identifying opportunities for incremental revenue growth and researching, identifying, and developing new business opportunities.
• Support retail program negotiations, analyze program performance, and assist with pricing and margin targets.
• Collaborate with retail personnel, analyzing sales data for merchandise implications, and develop ideas for new business initiatives and existing projects to increase company profitability.
• Strategically plan program budgets, manage team reports, and summarize retailer feedback, while ensuring the timely implementation of approved marketing programs to drive profitable sales growth and increased customer count.
• Collaborate with SGF Finance and Supply teams on trade savings and profitability initiatives, continuously analyzing the current business portfolio and rationalizing the SKU portfolio.
• Provide SKU-level inventory support, achieve SGF Annual Operating Plan goals for Quest/Atkins at Walmart, drive sales growth, increase market share, and expand the customer base.
• Execute retail price analysis and deliver against Walmart Joint Business Plan objectives, representing the company in a highly professional manner consistent with the image of Simply Good.
• Cultivate strong business relationships internally and externally, contract, and negotiate annual agreements for major accounts, and develop short- and long-term strategies and plans for the development and rollout of new initiatives, ensuring adoption by all departments.
• Responsible for the sales forecast for assigned customers and addressing shortfalls and risks to plan for account success.

KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES:

• Knowledge of working with Walmart and Walmart’s Retail Link data system.
• Deep understanding of distributor operations including pricing and discounting.
• Strong knowledge of the US-Based retail landscape, solution selling and marketing principles.
• Proven ability to organize and analyze data and information and develop actionable recommendations.
• Strong computer skills: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Proven and effective presentation skills.
• IRI or Nielsen knowledge (highly preferred)
• Partnering with Brokers (highly preferred)

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• BA or BS degree in related field, required
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in sales
• Direct knowledge and hands on experience working Walmart, required
• Direct Experience in the Food Industry Sales (Grocery) (highly preferred)
• Travel up to 35%

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The AR base salary range is: $150,000-$170, 000, exclusive of benefits or additional incentives (https://www.thesimplygoodfoodscompany.com/careers). Additionally,this position is eligible for a 30% annual short-term incentive and 20% Long-term incentive. If you are hired at Simply Goods Foods, your final base salary compensation will be determined based upon such factors as: geographic locations, skills,training, education and/or experience. Please keep in mind that hiring at the compensation range maximum would not be typical to allow for future and continued salary growth.
