Senior Project Accountant (Contract-to-Hire)

Our team at BrainWorks is actively working with an amazing PE-backed construction company in San Diego. This Portfolio Company is owned by one of the Top PE firms in the country and they are actively working through an IPO process to take the company public. We are currently seeking two experienced Senior Project Accountants with a deep understanding of construction accounting to join the team.

Location: Fully Remote / San Diego, CA
Hourly Rate: $45-60/HR DOE (Conversion Salary $95-120k DOE)
Duration: 3-6 Months

MUST HAVE QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance
• 4+ years of progressive project accounting experience
• 2+ years of experience within public accounting (CPA is a plus)
• Experience in a construction organization of at least $500M in revenue
• Experience owning the project accounting function for multiple projects, including an expertise in percentage of completion accounting, change orders, rev rec, contracts, cost to complete estimates, claims, settlements, reserves, consolidations, and uninstalled materials
• Experience working directly with external auditors
• Strong Excel skills (minimum requirement is the creation of Pivot Tables & utilizing Lookups)
• Experience with larger ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP, NetSuite, etc.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• CPA
• Experience at a Top 50 GC (i.e. Turner, Kiewit, Bechtel, AECOM, etc.)
• Experience working in a publicly traded construction company / SOX environment
• Experience in Big 4 public accounting
• Experience in a monthly close environment of 8 days or fewer
